The Foundation was created for education and research purposes, which has allowed Louisiana hospitals, both members and non-members, to gain access to additional expertise and resources through government grant activities and contracts focused on emergency preparedness and quality improvement initiatives.

About Us
The Louisiana Hospital Association’s Research and Education Foundation is committed to providing hospitals across our state the resources and support necessary to assist in all-hazards planning and response. The success of how our healthcare systems respond to disasters is indicative upon how well we equip our medical institutions to plan for a multitude of identified threats. It is recognized that the essential functions of emergency preparedness is to prepare from the ground level, upwards; so we encourage facility level planning and sustainability. Through the identification of gaps and critical triggers assumed to overwhelm an institution’s ability to effectively respond, we build upon regional and state plans to compensate for anticipated shortfalls.
