Equal Employment Opportunity Policy

The Louisiana Hospital Association and its affiliates (hereafter stated as "LHA") are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to qualified persons. LHA strictly prohibits discrimination in recruitment, hiring, promotion, compensation, professional development practices, and any other action related to terms, conditions, or privileges of employment on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, veteran status, pregnancy or childbirth, sickle cell trait, genetics, or any other characteristic prohibited by applicable law.

Each employee is obligated to report conduct that he/she believes may constitute unlawful discrimination to LHA's President & CEO. It is not necessary for an employee to complain first to the offending person in order to report unlawful discrimination. Further, it is LHA's policy to treat persons who complain of or report any violations of this policy with respect and concern and to assure that such employees are protected from retaliatory acts.
Each individual assigned managerial or supervisory responsibility is responsible for administering employment practices in a manner that is consistent with this policy. Any individual, whether an employee, supervisor, or management personnel, who violates this policy is subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

Notice of LHA's equal employment opportunity policy shall be provided to employees, job applicants, recruitment sources, and others involved in LHA's personnel, procurement, and contracting activities.

Internal Notice - The federal notice of Equal Employment Opportunity shall be posted on employee bulletin boards. New employees shall receive, during orientation, the Equal Employment Opportunity policy with a clear explanation of LHA's internal procedures for the receipt of discrimination complaints.

External Notice - LHA's policy on equal employment opportunity shall be published on LHA's website and reaffirmed to all recruitment sources on a continuing basis. The phrase "Equal Employment Opportunity Employer" shall be included in all advertisements, recruitment literature, and written communications with recruiting sources. An equal employment opportunity statement shall continue to be included in all agreements with contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
